Your typical single player action game (...Depth.

Your typical single player action game (e.g. Uncharted, Arkham Asylum, Assassin's Creed) tops out at something like 10 hours and offers completely linear character progression. In these cases you do sometimes get a multiplayer option, but I feel like you're kind of treading on territory that FPS'es do better if you're doing classless/gearless deathmatch PVP.

A single player RPG like Dragon Age gets you much further in terms of /played, and, as I said in the post, is a better deal if you plan to take advantage of replayability because you're not getting charged again once you buy the content. However, the DA class system is rudimentary compared to an MMO, there's no multiplayer option, and the DLC is generally a much worse value for the money compared to the base game.

Finally, I'd note that WoW's random dungeons and PVP battlegrounds work with limited to no communication between players. I don't know how well DCUO delivers on group PVE or PVP, but I think that you could deliver in these areas in a way that single player RPG's have never attempted.Green Armadillohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15564045048380177626noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-826986957606858027.post-62013642856320060002010-12-28T02:03:49.927-05:002010-12-28T02:03:49.927-05:00So what do you see as the main difference between ...So what do you see as the main difference between a MMO like this (assuming that most people also won't have a headset or kb for their PS3) and a single player game with frequent DLC?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
