On the length of the expansion

Dear Blizzard,

As you no doubt know if you've been reading this blog, I am primarily a solo PVE player, and I invest the vast majority of my time playing the game in my main, a gnome mage. Unfortunately, your most recent expansion, like TBC before it, was simply too short given the amount of time it took to release. Therefore, I am making a difficult decision. In protest, I have decided that I will not level Greenwiz any further until you get off your rear ends and release the next expansion.

Sincerely,
Green Armadillo

P.S. Ding 80. ;)

  1. LOL what a sacrifice. You sir, are a selfless blogger.

I will follow your lead, on hitting level 80, I too will stop leveling, awaiting a further expansion.

  2. Have you really explored all the zones already? Or do you just have no further rewards to give your main at this point?

Personally, I would at least continue on until there are no more rewards (quest items/upgrades) that I could obtain while playing solo.

I just find it difficult to believe that you've soaked up all of the new solo content already by simply reaching level 80. I remember when I hit 70 I had several weeks left before I ran out of solo content. In fact, I had at least 3 1/2 zones left to explore.

Not hating on you, just sharing my perspective.

  3. @ Hound: You may notice that I was very deliberate in my choice of words for my "threat" to Blizzard. ;)

As it happens, I was writing up my thoughts on the other stuff you mention for today's post.

  4. Ah, my bad!

Personally, I played for two days and already found myself on another hiatus going on two weeks now.

I like everything I've seen so far (the one zone that I've visited), but just can't seem to throw myself back into the game completely yet. I've never suspended my account for more than a month (a long time ago) but haven't really played in the past six or seven months. Just having trouble getting the "mood" back.

Anyway, I just found your blog about two weeks ago and have read most of your posts. I've visited some of the sites on your sidebar but find your insight and writing to be a step above the others that I've seen.

Hopefully I'll come to recognize your sarcasm/humor as I continue reading.

    Thanks for putting me straight!
